Day 18: The giant moth

This picture is of a giant moth that we spotted at Sravanabelegola, on our visit there earlier this year. Since, I’ve learnt that it is called an Atlas Moth. The moth gives an impression of movement even while it is resting, and the pattern on its wings appear like moving snakes, scaring off predators. We actually saw that happen. Nature is amazing, no?

Frightening? Moths are very gentle, delicate creatures, actually. πŸ™‚
